When asked if he was dreading any Bushtucker Trial in particular, the 77-year-old opened up about knowing little about the Ant and Dec-fronted reality hit and the awful challenges the stars are put through.
“I have to tell you I have never watched the show,” Stanley, who said he was going to miss his “big family” the most, commented.
The former politician continued: “It’s all totally new to me, I know absolutely nothing about it but I’ve been told about it and obviously I am ready to give it a go.

“I don’t think I am dreading anything. I am looking forward to being with the fellow competitors, contestants. I say that because it is a competition isn’t it?”
Stanley went on: “I am very much looking forward to it. I love Australia and I’ve done lots of different things in my life but I would say that I have not lived in a jungle before.”
The author went on to admit that he hadn’t told his children about his decision, including secretary of state for foreign affairs Boris, 53, editor Rachel, 52, politician Jo, 45, and Leo.

“They will pick it up somewhere I suppose. They are so busy. If the Johnsons spent all their time watching other Johnsons on TV, they would have nothing else to do!”
