Nintendo Switch could get one of the best PS4 and Xbox One features
Nintendo Switch is only six months old but has already got a great selection of exclusive games – and it could soon be getting an awesome PS4 and Xbox One feature.
It’s been half a year since the Nintendo Switch has been released, and the hybrid console is turning into a huge success for the gaming giant.
The Switch has sold 4.7 million units worldwide between its launch and the end of June.
That is more than a third of what the Wii U managed to sell during its entire lifetime.
Since its launch, Switch owners have been treated to a great selection of exclusive games – and more are lined up for the rest of the year.
It’s been a great start for Nintendo’s latest console, and it looks set to get even better for fans of the system.
The Nintendo Switch could soon be getting one of the best PS4 and Xbox One features, according to a group of indie developers.
In a Reddit AMA session, reported by IGN, the team behind spear-throwing game Lichtspeer said Nintendo are working on their own Trophy / Achievement style system.
Team member Tom said: "Nintendo doesn't have an official support for Achievements and Leaderboards, like Sony or Microsoft, but we know that they're working on it."
When he was called out on dropping the exciting news, Tom replied with: “Oops”.
He then added that he thought Nintendo “hinted” at it “a few times”.
Xbox fans have enjoyed hunting for Achievements ever since the Xbox 360 days, when they introduced the system to console gaming.
While Sony soon followed with Trophies for the PS3.

Nintendo are the only console developer without such a reward system, with the Wii U and 3DS not having a Trophy or Achievement style feature.
But this looks all set to change with the Switch, despite Nintendo yet to make an official comment on it.
The Big N have a Nintendo Direct lined up for later today where they could announce some kind of Achievement system for the Switch.
They have also been rumoured to be preparing a version of Super Smash Bros for the Switch, which they could announce in the upcoming Direct.
Rumours of a Super Smash Bros Nintendo Switch port surfaced on the Nintendo Japan YouTube channel.
The Nintendo Direct YouTube embed featured a tag for Super Smash Bros in Japan.
The tag was soon deleted, which means it was either posted in error or Nintendo has something to hide.
Little else is known about the upcoming Switch showcase, other than it will feature a segment about Super Mario Odyssey.
The Nintendo Direct kicks off tonight at 11pm BST and will be shown on the Nintendo Direct website and Nintendo's UK YouTube channel.
